Mercedes AMG is back to the performance car spot again, now bringing out a hotter version of the CLE53 coupe. Today the automaker released teaser images that clearly show a camouflaged CLE doing what a sports car does best (racing and sliding) across a frozen surface in Sweden.

But the question still surrounding the teaser images is whether the fourth coming AMG CLE will have the Black Series badge, but what we have is that it’s part of the brand’s limited production that runs under the name ‘Mythos.’ This will be the second car to come under the Mythos Series, the first one being the Pure Speed concept, which is a roofless vehicle offering an open-air experience.
The photos clearly show that the new AMG features a large rear wing signaling AMG’s intention of building a performance car with other key features such as the gaps between front grilles and the feature mounted between protruding fenders that will need to take in a lot of air.
While the details of the engine under its hood remain a mystery, we are sure that it will be more powerful than the regular CLE53 that has a turbocharged inline six producing 443 horsepower. Or at times it may be as pure speed, which is powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine that generates up to 577 horsepower.

While the mechanical details and pricing remain under wraps, we will be waiting for the official report from Mercedes as the days go by, as well as how many of them will be built. AMG built around 250 units of the PureSpeed at a cost of £800k; the new camouflaged CLE may remain within the 250 or go beyond in terms of numbers to be built.
